Along with the universities of Graz, Innsbruck, Linz, Salzburg, and Vienna, it is one of the six state universities offering a broad spectrum of subjects.

Home to around 100,000 inhabitants, the city of Klagenfurt is considered one of the most liveable cities in Austria.
